Becky's New Car Auditions at the Lofte
July 19th and 20th at 7:00 pm
We find Becky Foster stuck in middle age, middle management at a car dealership, and a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. That is until one night when inept millionaire stumbles into the dealership where she works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life...and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun! The Lofte’s Director’s Choice of 2020 is a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.
(The play contains strong language. We suggest PG 13.)

Union Recycling Trailer
I have recieved multiple questions about the absent recycling trailer - unfortunately I don't know much about the issue, so I reached out to a representative from Keep Cass County Beautiful for some insight. Here is what she was able to share with me -
"I have heard that there was abuse of the trailer program with illegal dumping of many large cardboard boxes and bags of recyclables left on the ground in the lot beside the trailer on more than one occasion. Union has only one maintenance employee who cares for and hauls the recycling to Omaha every 10 days. He does not have time to pick up and breakdown all the materials left irresponsibly along with all the other work to be done. The village chair person has halted the recycling trailer program until they can find a solution. And they are looking at adding recycling services within the village for those willing to pay for it.
So, I don’t know if the trailer will return or not. You could check with Melissa Hansen the Union village clerk for the latest information. Union residents might consider being on the agenda of the next village board meeting to express their concerns and maybe offer their help to supervise the trailer being open on a certain day/time."
It is very unfortunate that the trailer program has been suspended. It is very important that we educate ourselves on how to recycle responsibly! The June KCCB newsletter is attached below. KCCB is a great resource that provides loads of information on how and where to recycle all kinds of things. Their website can be found here - https://www.keepcasscountybeautiful.com/

Recommendations For a Former Resident?
Recently, a former Union resident reached out to the newsletter asking if there are any historical records, pictures, etc kept anywhere to be viewed if they were to come visit. This person lived in Union in the 1960's. Does anyone have any pictures, articles, etc that they would be willing to share? Anything showing how Union has changed in the past 60 or so years? If so, please send along to editor@unionnebraska.com - I would love to share with this former resident!
