Record Flooding in Union
The Weeping Water Creek in Union posted a record-crest level of 32.67 feet at 10:45 a.m. Monday. The previous record was 30.97 feet on July 23, 1993. That had been the only time the creek had surpassed 30 feet in recorded history before Monday. The other previous top creek marks at Union had been 29.80 feet (5-9-1950), 29.53 feet (6-13-1984) and 29.20 feet (7-9-1991).
Flash Flood Watch in effect from 7 pm cdt Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. The NWS in OmahaValley has issued a Flash flood watch for portions of Iowa and Nebraska, including the following areas, In Iowa, Fremont, Harrison, mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie And Shelby. In Nebraska, Antelope, Boone, Burt, Butler, Cass, cedar, Colfax, Cuming, Dodge, Douglas, Gage, Jefferson, johnson, Knox, Lancaster, Madison, Nemaha, Otoe, pawnee, Pierce, Platte, Richardson, Saline, Sarpy, saunders, Seward, Stanton, Thurston, Washington And Wayne.
From 7 pm cdt this evening through Wednesday morning Thunderstorms are expected to develop across the region once again this evening and could produce very heavy rainfall across portions of the area. The ground is already saturated and any further precipitation will likely result in areas of flash flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions, a flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.

American Cancer Society 2010 Relay For Life of Cass County
Date - Saturday, June 26 - 27, 2010 ~ Time - 7 PM to 7 AM on Sunday (12 hours)
You're all welcome to bring lawn chairs, sleeping bags and tents and spend the night in the great outdoors with us. Place - Plattsmouth High School Football Track if it rains (which it won't) we will move indoors to the gymnasium. There will be music and planned activities for all ages which will be going on through the night.
We are celebrating birthdays of everyone and especially survivors everywhere so if you know any survivors who would like to be our honored guests, please bring them along - the more the merrier!
