VILLAGE OF UNION MEETING MINUTES MAY 13, 2020 Chairman Seyler called the monthly meeting for May to order at 7:00pm at the Union Fire Hall. The Open Meeting Laws were displayed for public reference. The board member made a visit to her home to complain about the noise of machinery after quiet hours. The clerk also received noise complaints from two neighbors about hammering and music at all hours of the day and night. The Thumann’s also contacted the clerk about their bar property up for sale at a reduced price. CLERK REPORT – The clerk briefed the Board that sewer fees have been hard coded into the billing system to allow for garden and lawn watering, etc. without the sewer fees associated with the water used. The annual water quality report has been posted and certified, meter reading equipment is up and running. Village Maintenance Report: Steve Heyen reported that the West lagoon water pipe has been repaired. He will repair the East pipe next. He also mentioned that a resident is dumping yard waste on the neighbor’s and village property. He cleaned it up and advised her to bring it to the temporary yard waste site behind the ballfield. He also reported that there are potholes at 3rd and A St that need to be patched. The well pumps ran for 514 hours, pumping 1,849,000 gallons of water. Lift station ran for approximately 94 hours, pumping 1,212,000 gallons of wastewater. Fire Report- The department has temporarily ceased to issue burn permits until Nehawka has taken over and established policy with the Village. Union United Inc.
