She is compiling the invoices to submit to him for reimbursement of the repair cost. Contractor hired to replace office front windows contacted the clerk to advise her of the delay of the project because the windows are not ready due to shortages caused by the pandemic. He is hoping to have the job done by the end of the fiscal year. CLERK REPORT – The clerk reported that the budget is prepared and ready for approval and filing. The clerk sent two letters to residents as directed by Board members. The first letter requested trees to be trimmed over A St. and the second, to maintain overgrown lawn. Village Maintenance Report: The well pumps ran for 608 hours, pumping 2,253,000 gallons of water. Lift processed 1,836,000 gallons of wastewater. Johnson Co. was in town for the annual lift station clean-out. Heyen requested that this be done twice a year in the future because of the amount of sludge that builds up in a year. Johnson Co. detected two sewer lines that are collapsed, but still working, during their sewer line documentation. One line is located on the south side of Main St. near the village maintenance shop and the other is on S 2nd St. These will have to be dug up and replaced. Flow tests done by ISO revealed low pressure South of 1st St. The Nebraska Rural Water Association will be in town tomorrow to help locate leaks in the water lines. Fire Report- NTR. Union United Inc. Report: Vidlak reported that the annual golf tournament fund raiser was a success, bringing in $1500 to $2000 in profit. Clean up weekend is scheduled for September 12 and 13. Dumpsters for trash, an electronics recycling station and a metal recycle station will be available for residents. No tires will be accepted. NEW BUSINESS: Building permit was reviewed for 136 W Main St. The proposed improvements exceeded the amount that could be approved in the flood plain. Owners will look into surveying the property to see if it can be removed from the flood plain before major improvements are approved. The floodplain administrator recommended the permit be approved for deck portion of the planned improvements until property can be surveyed. Ruby motioned to approve the building permit as recommended by the floodplain manager. 2nd by Crook. Cass motioned to table decision on membership with the Nebraska Recycle Council until the November regular meeting to allow the clerk to gather more information on the organization. 2nd by Ruby.
