MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 11, 2026

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm at the Union Office/Fire Hall at 500 Main St. The Open Meeting Laws were displayed for public reference.  On roll call:  Seyler – Aye, Feek – Aye, Fritschle – Aye, Ruby-Aye, Hill – Aye.

Minutes of the February Board meeting were reviewed. Feek motioned to approve February 11, 2026 Meeting minutes.  2nd by Ruby.  By Roll, Trustee votes as follows, Seyler – Aye, Feek – Aye, Fritschle – Aye, Ruby-Aye, Hill – Aye. Motion approved.

Claims and Accounts were presented. Hil motioned to approve March Claims and Accounts. 2nd by Fritschle. By Roll, Trustee votes as follows, Seyler – Aye, Feek – Aye, Fritschle – Aye, Ruby-Aye, Hill – Aye. Motion approved.

CORRESPONDENCE – The Clerk received new pricing for the Intuit product the Village uses, total increase for this year $405. ClerkBooks is Beta testing their standalone municipal account software in IA and a few more states will be released this year.  Union is on the waiting list. Clerk received NDOT legal document schedule and correspondence from OPPD asking for input on a planned transmission line project coming through Cass County from Plattsmouth to Nebraska City.
CLERK REPORT – The clerk reported that she has been working with the Nebraska Department of Revenue and County Election Commissioner on a process to implement a 1% local option sales tax for the Village to be used on financing the greatly needed drinking water infrastructure project.
Village Maintenance Report – Heyen reported that the well house pumped 1,384,000 gallons for 224 hours.  1,380,000 gallons of wastewater went through the lift station.  The vacuum seals have been rebuilt Lift Station this month.  Heyen asked permission to contract 20 hours of summer help this summer. Chairman approved.

New Business:

Ruby motioned to support the Union Ballfield project improvements by fund matching $2000.00 from the Leasing Fund to the Conestoga Baseball Board’s pledge.  2nd by Fritschle. By Roll, Trustee votes as follows, Seyler – Aye, Feek – Aye, Fritschle – Aye, Ruby-Aye, Hill –Aye. Motion approved.

Hill motioned to adjourn at 7:19 pm.  2nd by Fritschle. By Roll, Trustee votes as follows, Seyler – Aye, Feek – Aye, Fritschle – Aye, Ruby-Aye, Hill – Aye. Motion approved.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 8, 2026 at the Union Fire Hall.  The Meeting Notice and Agenda will be posted for the public at the Village Office, the Union Junktion, and the Union Post Office by April 3, 2026.
