25th Annual September 11 National Commemoration Ceremony

Friday, September 11, 2026


The 25th annual September 11 commemoration ceremony will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum plaza in New York City.

25th Anniversary Commemoration Schedule
    7:00 AM: Memorial plaza opens for 9/11 family members access (restricted from the general public during the morning program).
        8:30 AM / 8:40 AM: Official remembrance program begins with the reading of names.
            8:46 AM: First moment of silence (the first of seven total moments observed throughout the commemoration, including a new seventh moment dedicated to those who have died from 9/11-related illnesses).
                Afternoon: Memorial plaza reopens to the general public (exact time announced locally).
                    Dusk to Dawn: Tribute in Light installation illuminates the New York City skyline from sunset on September 11 until sunrise on September 12.
